The Lahnerhof is situated at an elevation of 1,180 meters in the Lesachtal—a place where nature still has room to breathe. Over 300 kilometers of hiking trails crisscross the surrounding area, starting right at our doorstep. This tranquility continues indoors:
Our rooms offer sweeping views across Carinthia—up to 150 kilometers into the distance. A place to arrive, take a deep breath, and feel at ease.
Whether hiking through the mountains or riding a motorcycle through Carinthia—the Lahnerhof is a starting point for days that begin outdoors and end in tranquility.
This philosophy is also reflected in our Slow Food cuisine. We use local ingredients from regional producers—honest, seasonal, and prepared with great care.
In tune with nature
We also consciously live in harmony with nature in many other areas. Fresh water flows directly to the farm from our own spring on Obergailer Berg. We use solar power to generate our electricity, and charging an electric car is also no problem. We source the wood we use for heating from our own forest. Here, natural resources are used with care—in cycles that have been a matter of course for generations.

At the Lahnerhof, farming is part of everyday life—quiet and unassuming. Organic farming isn’t just a concept; it’s something that has evolved over the years. Our mother cows live here in the fresh mountain air and tranquility, and spend the summer on the Obergailer Alm amidst blooming mountain meadows.
